BIOGRAPHY

Kerry A. Smith is a long time lover of music!  As a child, he was trained by his father James E. Smith Jr. who too was a music lover and a household name in the state of Virginia. With his father being a multitalented musician, singer and songwriter himself, he noticed that his youngest of five was following in his footsteps.

Kerry Smith has been blessed to travel all over the country such as Copenhagen Demark, Germany, France, Switzerland to name a few touring, performing in concerts, and doing musical workshops. He has had the pleasure of performing with some of America's greats such as; Brian McKnight, Richard Smallwood, Cheryl "Coko" Gamble (from SWV), Dr. Carlton Pearons, Earl Bynum, The Virginia Aires, and many others.

Through his passion for music, Kerry has continued to make his name a household name but his ultimate interest is to make the name of Jesus greater!

Kerry A. Smith has been involved in music that ranges from Gospel, R&B, Classical, Blue Grass, Rock & Roll, and even Heavy Metal. No matter what, he always found himself being placed in a leadership role because of his perfection for music being correctly approached, his creative mind, and having perfect pitch. From being appointed as choir director to even being reprimanded for adding his own solo in his school band (even though the band instructor decided to keep it), to being made his marching bands musical and choreographic director,  Kerry has always been able to help embellish anything musically his hands were involved in. Hoping to follow in the footsteps of writers that have longed inspired him such as; Fred Hammond, Micheal Brooks, Donny Hathaway, Donald Lawrence, Kevin Bond, Steely Dan, Brain McKnight, DeAngelo, Micheal Jackson, Prince, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Stockley Williams, Anita Baker, Lala Hathaway, Maurice White, Peter Cetera, David Paich, Steve Perry, and many others, Kerry is hopeful that his God-given gift will place his name in the very same line up of those whose impacted his life.
